MapMarker
The powerful, cost-effective geocoding tool - and first step toward mapping and business data analysis.
MapMarker is based on the same geocoding engine, has the same user interface, and the same features as MapMarker Plus. The difference is in the data. MapMarker is our TIGER based geocoding solution positioned for customers requiring a TIGER based product, who do not place a premium on street level geocoding, or who are simply more price sensitive.
In selecting MapMarker, over MapMarker Plus, customers can expect to receive 20-30% fewer addresses geocoded to the street level. MapMarker's address dictionary is updated semi-annually and TIGER updates are incorporated when received from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The MapMarker Address Dictionary is based on TIGER while MapMarker Plus incorporates enhanced data from Tele Atlas.
Use MapMarker to:
- Geocode large tables in batch mode for faster results
- Geocode interactively to maximize the number of matches and to control error rate
- Geocode to remote tables via ODBC
- Serve multiple simultaneous geocoding results from a single MapMarker engine

MapMarker Plus U.S.
The premier geocoding product for mapping and analyzing business data.
MapMarker Plus is a powerful geocoding tool, is the first step toward mapping and analyzing your business data - adding geographic coordinates to every record in your database. MapMarker Plus matches records against its comprehensive Address Dictionary, a database of USPS street addresses, street geometry and the latest ZIP + 4 centroids.
Enhanced by Tele Atlas data, MapMarker Plus can locate millions of addresses with street level precision. Combining an increased number of streets, with a greater number of addresses, MapMarker Plus delivers up to a 30% increase in hit rate at the street level compared to the standard MapMarker. MapMarker Plus gives you greater control, while spatially enabling your data.
MapMarker Plus ensures accuracy when visualizing business location information, such as stores, customers and your competition as well as:
- Geocoding large tables in batch mode for fast results (geocode up to 600,000 records per hour)
- Geocoding interactively through friendly user interface (you make the final decision if there is a
- atch) to maximize the number of matches and to control error rate
- Geocoding to street addresses or ZIP Code Centroids
- Identifying result codes by the type of match to tell at a glance the street address matches from the ZIP Code Centroid matches
- Standardizing addresses to meet USPS CASS requirements (CASS certification received for 2003/2004)
- Geocoding remote tables via ODBC
We now offer special pricing for State and Local Government Agencies wishing to purchase the right to geocode addresses at a County or State level.

MapMarker Plus U.S. with Parcel Precision
MapMarker ParcelPrecision data enhances the positional accuracy of MapInfo’s premier geocoding engine - MapMarker Plus.
In conjunction with the MapMarker family of geocoders or the Envinsa location utility, this data can pinpoint street addresses to a physical building, site or parcel, providing the most accurate geocode possible.
Using Tele Atlas address point data, MapInfo has created two distinct sets of parcel records, each for different geocoding needs:
- Parcel Center Location: Provides the actual centroids associated with the address of each parcel – a good fit for insurance underwriting, flood determination, and “Call-Before-You-Dig” applications.
- Parcel Street Location: Provides the location of address point centroids as they are reflected on the street– best used for destination location in routing and navigation applications.
Customers requiring a serious level of location detail for their applications– in cases where accuracy really matters- will see immense value in using ParcelPrecision data with the MapMarker product line.
Both data sets currently provide approximately 44 million address points across the U.S., including those in many major urban areas. These points are tested and updated quarterly – ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
